In the book Ask Me No Questions Aisha and her family are traveling to Canada to get their papers to become legal citizens. When they were on their way to Canada they ran out of gas and had to stop at a restaurant because ma was hungry. Ma was afraid to talk to people because she didn't speak English that well. So just in cast she told Nadira to order for her. But as a lady was coming toward her she got scared. Luckily, the lady turned the other way. When they got back into the truck Ma and Abba told Nadira to drive the car because Aisha was sleeping and she woke up thinking that she wasn't going to be alive. But then Nadira was jealous because they care for her because she want to be a doctor. But really they care about her to because she is the littlest daughter and she cries a lot.
My reaction about this story is that why would the grandfather want to steel a piece of paper and how come ma still haven't talked English.
Why does mom and dad only care about Nadira?

Hi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteYou brought up so important details about Nadira and her family. For example, the mother who was afraid to speak english and that she watched American shows to learn more english. However, it seems that you are a little confused about what's happening in the book. Let's chat in our next class.
Great Questions!
